Overview:
Taking an image, freezing a moment, it reveals how rich reality truly is. Photography is the art of observation, of telling a story without words. On this trip, you will be able to shoot your story at the End of the World, in a region that covers about one million square kilometers, in one of the most spectacular and photogenic places on earth, where horses are King and men survivors. Welcome to Patagonia!
Patagonia boasts an appeal of extreme remoteness perhaps only matched by the deep Amazon and isolated Alaska. Icy glaciers plunge into emerald lakes; wild fjords snake through hardwood forests, and the Andes' dramatic peaks ascend into swirling clouds and mist. But what Patagonia has in natural wealth, it equally has in culture.
19th-century pioneers from Spain and other European countries settled in that rugged and dramatic region that encompasses both Chile and Argentina. They brought horses, cattle, and sheep with them. Gigantic Estancias (farms) arose and the pioneers became Gauchos. Till today their criollo horses are their most loyal companion. But horses also escaped in this vast area. And because of that in certain places, we now find herds of wild horses that in all those years nearly had contact with humanity.
Here in this breathtaking environment you will hunt with your camera and “shoot” wild horses in national parks. You will travel by boat and vehicle to different Estancias where Gauchos will herd their criollo horses towards the best spot so you can capture them with your camera. Herds of only white horses in front of a lake with high snowy peaks in the background. Herds with different types of coat colors and striking markings running in the pampa with the famous Torres del Paine in the background, this in the national park with the same name. Shots of one horse, of 10 or 100 horses in freedom or at the place you want to freeze them.
During this workshop of Equine Photography you will be moving every day to different locations for the photoshoots and spend your nights at 4 different accommodations; 2 nights in a 4-star hotel, 1 night in the comfortable Pampa Lodge, 1 night in a rustic Estancia and 3 nights of glamping* (4 nights of glamping for the 9 days program).
Your Coach will be a professional photographer and specialist in Equestrian Photography (see travel dates with the names & biography of the photographer) and will give you tips and instruction on location.
During the 2 daily customized photoshoots, you will learn about composition, light, and perspectives. Every late afternoon and evening you and your coach will study the shots of the day, find out how to improve your work and get into editing. You will learn that the picture that you took with your camera is the imagination you want to create with reality. Be welcome to participate in this stunning photography workshop at the end of the world!
* What is Glamping?
The word 'glamping' derives its name from Glamorous Camping, a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those usually associated with traditional camping. Glamping is where stunning nature meets modern luxury. It’s a way to experience the untamed and completely unique parts of the world—without having to sacrifice creature comforts. It’s much more than a simple tent.
The waterproof canvas tents are spacious 2 person tents where you can stand upright. They are mounted on a wooden deck off the ground. Equipped with real beds, real full mattresses, linen, blankets, and pillows. The 6 Glamping tents are located near the main building where the kitchen, dining room, living room, and all modern sanitary facilities are provided. See pictures.
